Vladimir, trained as a scientific diver at the Limnological Institute, scours the sediment of the lake bed and brings up samples for the scientists to pour over with tweezers, selecting prime mollusk specimems and placing examine and store. Tatyana, Peter and Natasha hunch over the specimens, picking up the tiny mollusks with tweezers and dividing them among labeled jars.
