Slaughter and Feast, (continued)

When the sheepskin is removed, Buyanto cuts into the body cavity. He removes the stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys, heart, and then lifts out enormous clots of congealed blood. With a ladle, Buyanto then scoops the liquid blood out of the cavity, and pours it, thick and steaming, into a metal bowl.

All of these parts will be prepared by Buyanto's wife, Tsypelma, and served to the guests. The only parts of the sheep not eaten are the contents of the stomach and intestines, which Tsypelma will squeeze out into a pail on the floor, and the few scraps of raw meat fed to the dogs.
